WELCOME TO OUSE MEADOW CAMPSITE
Ouse Meadow is an idyllic East Sussex campsite situated directly opposite Bluebell Railway, next door to Sheffield Park Gardens and offers a back-to-nature experience in the East Sussex countryside with the Ouse Valley footpath just meters away. We set out to offer people the chance to camp in natural countryside without excessive rules and regulations, the emphasis here is on peace and quiet, back to basics with small campfires allowed (logs and kindling sold on site).
We added a second camping meadow "Little Brooks" which we offer to couples and adult groups but is available for sole usage if booked early enough and can easily accommodate 30-40 tents. This is my favorite campsite area of approx 2 acres along the riverbank and away from the crowds. It has toilets, and water standpipe in the field (the hot showers are in the main field about a 500yd walk away).
We have a fantastic location with just enough in the way of facilities to make a great break. We added more rope swings, badminton and swingball setups and three fabulous hot outdoor showers (private and large enough for a family to shower together) and are building a brand new toilet block for 2020. We don’t have set pitches or electrical hook-ups and are tents and small camper vans only. No caravans, you pitch in the spot that suits you and get down to the serious business of relaxing without any fuss.
Please be aware that there is an unfenced river running along one side of the campsite.
We allow small sensible campfires and quiet, well behaved dogs (cleaning up after your dog is a must). As far as possible we let campers get on with making their own worlds in the countryside. We provide a beautiful piece of land and a pleasant atmosphere, plus toilets, hot shower and fresh water.
