Campfires
Here at Ouse Meadow, we believe campfires are at the heart of camping. After all, what’s camping without a crackling fire? That’s why we encourage guests to enjoy a safe evening fire.

We allow small, off-ground campfires & BBQ's here at Ouse Meadow. You’re welcome to bring your own firepit, or you can hire one from our reception desk when you arrive. We also have sacks of logs and kindling available for purchase.
The firewood we provide at Ouse Meadow is locally and sustainably sourced. If you choose to bring your own, please make sure it’s completely free from nails, paint, varnish, or any other chemicals that could cause pollution. Nails, in particular, are hazardous — they don’t mix well with campers’ feet, car tyres, or our livestock.

Our woodlands are home to a rich ecosystem of wildlife that we’re committed to protecting. For this reason, we kindly ask that you do not collect wood from our woodland areas.
Fire Safety
All fires/bbqs must be off ground and attended at all times
Pitch you tent at least two metres from firepit
Water fire bucket kept close to firepit (fire buckets available at reception)
Clean firewood only (no construction timber, pallets, furniture)
Fireworks, chinese lanterns & sparklers are not permitted
Ensure all cigarettes are completely out
